today we continued our review of long division with decimals. Students needed to complete five problems correctly in 40 minutes. There were 12 who did this. Yay!! The other 7, who did not, need to complete the middle column (6 items) on the handout -- clearly they need some extra practice. (They are also most welcome to come for tutoring after school, too.) I think some who have never really been able to do long division may have made some key progress.
We started class with a review of some key number sense items, divisibility rules, factoring, and identifying rational numbers.
Finally, we continue to talk about good habits of mind -- those that help us succeed.
